Cooking in the heartland, Volume 3 continues Lev Haolam’s journey of sharing the culinary traditions of the Holy Land with our supporters.

From its early days, Israel has been welcoming its people back home from all corners of the earth, profoundly influencing the development of authentic Israeli cuisine. As the Jewish people returned to their ancestral homeland, they brought the influences of the countries they had sheltered in.

Preparing recipes from our third cookbook, “Cooking in the Heartland Volume 3”  you will be able to explore the diverse influences on Israeli cuisine, from strudel from Vienna to traditional gundi from Persia! Each of our producers featured in Cooking in the Heartland, Volume 3, chose to share recipes that are their family favorites. Each recipe reflects their family heritage and cooking traditions.

You will find easy-to-prepare recipes that use Israeli ingredients, from farm-fresh vegetables and fruits to dairy and meat products. While these are Israeli staples, we ensured that you would be able to source the ingredients you need to create these dishes whether you are cooking in Australia, France, or America!
