The Betzalel series of wines from Tabernacle Winery showcases the winery’s two flagship wines. The Cabernet Sauvignon is a magnificent expression of the winemaker’s skill. It is a velvety wine with impressive structure, wonderfully balanced acidity, and ripe tannins.
Tabernacle Winery reserves the premium grapes from their vineyards for the Bezalel series wines. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then transferred to oak barrels to mature. (10 months in new barrels and ten months in year-old barrels). Following the barrel maturation, the wine is filtered and bottled. The bottles rest for 12 months before being offered for sale.
Tabernacle’s Cabernet Sauvignon has a vibrant bouquet of red plums, blackberries, vanilla, and hints of mint and eucalyptus. This full-bodied red is ready to drink but, according to the winemaker, will age nicely over the next five to six years and beyond.
Pair Ketoret red wine with your favorite red meats. It is particularly delicious with lamb and other marbled meats. Tabernacle Winery is a family-owned boutique winery that produces high-quality Israeli wines. The owners’ and winemakers’ deep connection to the Holy Land motivates and informs their efforts to produce wines that respect the land and express the beauty of the ancient Israeli winemaking heritage.
The winery is located in Moshav Tsuriel in Upper Galilee. Tabernacle Winery specializes in producing rich, complex red wines with the unique character of the Galilean growing conditions.
The winery’s winemaking process is based on classic French grape varieties cultivated in Tabernacle’s own vineyards in the Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights.
The winery uses traditional methods, passed down for generations, with modern know-how and equipment. The kosher winery’s winemaker is Yossi Eisikovich, a graduate of Rashi Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Yossi studied winemaking at the Lomada Institute on the Strauss Campus in Jerusalem. Following his studies, he served seven years as the head winemaker at Metzuda Winery in the Judea Hills. During his service at Metzuda Winery, Yossi developed a reputation as a talented winemaker to watch. He joined Tabernacle Winery in 2018.
The Tabernacle Winery team is religious and views making wine in the Holy Land as an expression of their eternal faith in God.
