David’s Story
Moving to Israel and establishing his tea business, ShalvaTea, is a dream come true for David. He was born in Norway, lived in both Finland and the United States, and dreamt of building his life in the Land of Israel.
As a Fulbright Scholar, he spent a year doing forestry research in the Carmel Forest near Haifa. It was during this time that the seed for ShalvaTea was sown. David would notice unique healing herbs and flowers while he was walking, and he thought that it would be lovely to make tea from the flowers and herbs of Israel.
When he moved to Israel, he spent time at Kibbutz Neot Smadar (another Lev Haolam partner), and while in the Negev Desert, the seed that was planted 2 years previously germinated, and he decided to take a leap of faith and bring his vision to life!
